Jafor Raja Chowdhury joined in Bangladesh Civil Service in 1991as Assistant Commissioner & Magistrate. More than his three decade’s Civil Service career, he got the opportunity to serve both in the Field as well as Secretarial Administration of the Government. He achieved unique experiences of facing different critical events in the field administration as a Crisis Manager. In his long civil service career, he served in the different Ministries including namely Public Administration, Health, Finance, Industries and Foreign Affairs.

Mr Chowdhury possessed a good command in the Land, Finance and Intellectual Property Managements. He is a Panel Speaker of Public Policy and Financial Management training courses at National Academy for Planning and Development. He obtained Master degree in Geography & Environmental Science from Dhaka University and completed special courses in the Administrative & Financial Management form the Civil Service College of Singapore and Crown Agents International Training Centre of UK. He visited more than 30 countries to attend many bilateral dialogue and multilateral seminar as a member of the Bangladesh Delegation. He worked for ministry of Finance, Economic Relations Division and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in various capacities. He is a member of Bangladesh evaluation Society.
